# Precise Special Functions — Privacy Policy

## What this app does

Precise Special Functions is a specialized mathematical calculator for high-precision special-function evaluations. When ChatGPT invokes one of the app's tools, the tool receives numeric arguments (integers, real numbers, and an optional precision parameter), computes the result using arbitrary-precision arithmetic, and returns the result as a decimal string.

## What we collect

For each tool invocation, the app logs:

- Tool name (e.g., `bessel_j`, `riemann_zeta`, `gamma`).
- Numeric arguments passed to the tool (e.g., `n=0, x=2.4048, precision_dps=50`).
- Timestamp of the invocation.
- Computed result (a decimal string).
- Invocation latency.

## What we DO NOT collect

- User identity, name, email, or account information.
- Chat context, conversation history, or messages beyond the specific tool call arguments.
- IP addresses beyond ephemeral transport-layer information that Fly.io (our hosting provider) and OpenAI (the ChatGPT connector protocol) may handle in the ordinary course of routing requests.
- Any personally identifying information (PII).

## Why we collect it

Invocation logs support internal analytics that reconcile ChatGPT-observed tool calls against the server's own record. This work is part of a broader research project studying how AI assistants route tool invocations across published apps. The reference app is an instrument for that research, not a general-purpose consumer product.

## How long we retain it

90 days from the invocation timestamp, after which logs are deleted from active storage. Backups are subject to Fly.io's standard retention policy.

## Third parties

We do not sell, rent, or share invocation logs with third parties.

Infrastructure providers involved in ordinary operation:

- **Fly.io** — hosts the app's MCP server. Fly.io's privacy policy applies to infrastructure-level data (routing, request logs).
- **OpenAI** — operates the ChatGPT connector protocol through which invocations arrive. OpenAI's privacy policy applies to the user-facing chat and its own logging.

## User rights

Because we do not collect user identity, we cannot associate invocation logs with a specific user, so there is no per-user deletion mechanism available at the log level. If you have concerns about a specific interaction with the app, contact the address above.

## Changes to this policy

Material changes will be published to the same URL as this policy with an updated "Effective" date.
